2026 Call Opens for APNI Plant Nutrition Scholar Award Program

Benguérir, Morocco — 27 February, 2026 — The African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) has opened its 2026 call for applications to the APNI Plant Nutrition Scholar Award program.

This Award offers scholarships of $2,000 (U.S. Dollars) to M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. students studying in the disciplines of soil science, agronomy, and horticultural or tree crop science with a focus on plant nutrition. To qualify, students must also be attending a degree-granting institution located in Africa.

Since its establishment in 2020, APNI has distributed awards to 60 students studying in 18 countries.

“We are very pleased to continue this impactful award program, which as part of our EXCEL Africa Initiative, recognizes excellence within graduate student programs focused on advancing the science of crop nutrition in Africa,” explains Dr. Kaushik Majumdar, APNI Director General.

Eligible candidates must also be enrolled in a program of graduate study as of the application deadline of 30 April, 2026.
