Growing Africa is focused on building forums to deliver actionable plant nutrition science. Desired impacts include positive influences on advancing sustainable and productive agriculture, addressing food security challenges, and building a resilient and knowledgeable agricultural community.
Effective communication within the R&D community fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing, and promoting innovation. It enables researchers to build on each other’s work, leading accelerated improvement in plant nutrition practices and solutions. Central to this is the need to build resources to support the networks of national agriculture research systems and agronomists. Actionable information on plant nutrition science provides farmers with the knowledge and techniques needed to optimize nutrient management in their fields.
We believe there is a strong need to support the community of stakeholders in African agricultural research and development through forum-building and the mobilization of knowledge.
Communication on plant nutrition science is also essential for informing agricultural policies at regional, national and local levels that depend on access to evidence-based information to formulate strategies in support of sustainable and productive agriculture.
