She holds a PhD from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, graduate school of Production Ecology and Resource Conservation; MSc in Environmental Studies (Agroforestry and Rural development) from Kenyatta University, Kenya; and a BSc in Agricultural Education and Extension from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
Esther has years of work experience in the field of sustainable intensification, agronomy, soil fertility management, cropping systems and participatory learning in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining APNI, Esther worked for the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) since 2014. At IPNI, she focused on enhancing capacity for dissemination of site-specific maize production intensification technologies under variable farm, climatic and soil fertility conditions in sub-Saharan Africa, through collaboration with local and regional research institutes and universities.
